Tower of London - Open Times and Location

The Tower of London was begun with the creation of the White Tower in the reign of William the Conqueror (1066-87) and remained nearly unchanged for over 100 years.

Between 1190 and 1285, the White Tower was encircled by two walls and a moat. Edward III (1327-77) added the Wharf, which was completed under the reign of Richard II (1377-99).

Today the moat has been drained, and can be picnicked in during the summer, but in most other aspects the tower remains unchanged from that time.
