Horses, hiking, bits and Bobbies -
England
Horses in the Landscape - The Real Thing
Horses at work in London
The horses of the Metropolitan Police
Service in London. These horses are true professionals. Well
trained, intelligent, and hard working, they do their share in
fighting crime and making London a great place to visit.

Horses at Buckingham Palace,
London
The daily changing of the guard at
Buckingham Palace looks like it would never happen if not for the
herds of well trained and clever police horses keeping things under
control.

Street Crossing signs in London
Raised up higher on the poles, to be
in easy reaching distance of riders, these signs allow horses to
cross in safety too.

Riding in Hyde Park
London
The bridle paths in Hyde Park are
well groomed and well designed for riding pleasure and equine
safety. This young rider is getting a bit of a lesson from her older
and more experienced friend.

Public Paddocks
Hyde Park, London
You gotta love a city that provides
training areas for riders. And the wonderful taxpayers who agree to
fund it!

Bridle Paths
Hyde Park, London
As you can see, riding here is a real
treat. Soft, secure footing, miles of scenic trails, and all within
the heart of this beautiful city.

Peter and Gryffindor
A new comer to the police horse
world, Gryffindor had only been working some six weeks when this
photo was taken. And a more charming "bobbie" you're not likely to
meet! :-)

Horse in the English
Countryside, Kent
As you drive through the English
countryside, you will see horses here, there, and over there too.
Along public footpaths you'll come
across sheep, cows, and of course, horses. This friendly bunch
allowed me to wander around with them and posed nicely for my
photos.

Riding in England
The beauty of horses dot the
countryside and left me feeling quite envious of living in a place
where such sights are an everyday occurrence.
Thanks to the kind lady that
submitted this photo. A hard drive failure means I've lost your name
and contact info, please write to me again!
